Our Process

To start a new fixture or furniture commission, we make measurements, discuss functional needs, and collaborate on material and finishes. Once we have the initial information, we make a design with a couple variations.

• In a live drawing session, we can evaluate the overall functionality and aesthetics of the version we have presented. As changes need to be made, we make them in real time with your feedback to land on our best version.
• Next, we will create a build file that includes all measurements, materials, finishes, and hardware.  This build file can then be used to price the construction and assembly of the fixture or furniture piece. This build file then also can be used as assembly instructions for a production shop. We have partners who specialize in constructing fixtures and furniture. Our drawings talk to industry standard machining to cut down on time and waste from design to final build.
• Using high-definition images and technical data of the materials chosen for a fixture or piece of furniture, we produce a high-definition rendering, in accurate lighting, to give you a sense of what the final fixture or piece of furniture will look like.
• Using an online based visualizer, we can insert our model with finishes textures and hardware into a VR environment. This visualizer allows you to see minor changes, such as a different material, options on hardware, or multiple configurations of the same piece of furniture.  Using a modern smartphone, this visualizer allows you to project a digital twin of the fixture or piece of furniture into your environment.

With the digital twins, we can explore as many options as you would like. The visualizer also allows you to send a link to as many people as you would like to get their opinion or feedback.
